Open position for an Experienced Researcher In February 2013 the Institute of Bioinformatics, Johannes Kepler University Linz, joined a European Project (Marie-Curie IAPP) - Mr.SymBioMath (www.mrsymbiomath.eu) which is focused on the problem domain of Comparative Genomics. The contribution of the Institute of Bioinformatics in the context of this project is concentrated in the area of Bioinformatics, Machine Learning, and Genomics. In order to support this project and to develop visualisation solutions we are looking for an: Experienced Researcher The Institute of Bioinformatics has a vacancy for an Experienced Researcher funded with full employee benefits for a period of 24 months. Applications will be accepted until Sep 09, 2013. Your field of work will be:Research in the domain of Machine Learning, Bioinformatics, Comparative Genomics, and Genetics You should have experience in the following areas:
- Machine learning
- R
- Latent variable models
- I/NI calls
- SNPs
- Genetic variants
Experienced Researchers must, at the time of recruitment or be in possession of a doctoral degree, independently of the time taken to acquire it or have at least four years of full-time equivalent research experience, including the period of research training, after obtaining the degree which formally allowed them to embark on a doctorate in the country in which the degree was obtained or in the country of the host institution to which they are seconded or recruited (irrespective of whether a doctorate was envisaged or not). The researcher may not have resided or carried out his/her main activity in Austria for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to his/her appointment.
